Loyola’s doctors help diagnose and manage some “risk-taking” behaviors, including substance abuse and sexual behaviors, that can result in unintended health consequences.
Loyola’s experienced doctors understand the development needs that are unique to adolescents, and our approach puts the family at the center of care. We will take the time to listen carefully to you, your son or daughter and other family members, getting a complete picture of any problem.
We will consider the unique environment that you and child live in: home life, school, community and peer group. We know that treatment is much more likely to succeed if you or your teen can rely on the support of family and peers.
To achieve the best possible results, we will work as an integrated team with you, your family and Loyola pediatricians, psychologists and social workers. We also partner with professionals in the community, including therapists, school counselors and nurses.
Most of the patients we see are referred by a primary care physician, pediatrician or another specialist. We maintain constant contact with your referring physician and will offer updates about treatment, follow-up and progress toward recovery.

- Child and Teen Weight Loss and Control Program — Loyola is committed to helping reduce obesity among children and teens. Our child and teen weight loss and control program can help your adolescent son or daughter in dealing with a weight disorder. We will work to help your child lose weight, improve his or her diet and increase self-esteem. Children and adolescents normally enter this program through a referral by a primary care physician or pediatrician.
- Sports Medicine Program — The sports medicine program at Loyola focuses on helping athletes of all ages prevent and recover from sports-related injuries. We use advanced 3-D mapping technology to screen how athletes play, watching for potentially harmful motion mechanics.
