Lauren Bloomberg, MD
Medical School: Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola University of Chicago
Residency: Loyola University Internal Medicine Residency
Lauren went to the University of Wisconsin-Madison for college before pursuing her medical training at Loyola for medical school, internal medicine residency, and fellowship (proudly identifying as a "Loyola lifer"). I chose to train at Loyola for its strong sense of community, diverse patient population, and supportive mentorship. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends. My favorite things to do in Chicago are walking the Riverwalk in the summer, going to museums, and trying new restaurants. Following fellowship, I plan to practice general gastroenterology in the northern Chicago suburbs.

Faith Buchanan, MD
Medical School: Ross University School of Medicine
Residency: Medstar Health Georgetown Internal Medicine Residency
Faith Buchanan grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota and earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in the West Indies. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at MedStar Health Georgetown/Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., and is currently a third-year Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellow at Loyola University Medical Center. Her clinical interests include disorders of the esophagus, stomach, and large intestine, and she plans to continue practicing as a general gastroenterologist after fellowship. What she values most about her fellowship program are the supportive faculty and her Co-Fellows. Outside of medicine, Faith enjoys spending time with family and friends, peloton workouts, playing basketball, attending church, and exploring eclectic, hipster coffee shops.

Nirmal Desai, MD
Medical School: University of Illinois School of Medicine
Residency: University of Chicago Internal Medicine Residency
Originally from Naperville, Illinois, Dr. Desai completed his undergraduate studies at Northwestern University and earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago. He went on to complete internal medicine residency at the University of Chicago, where he developed a strong foundation in academic medicine and a passion for gastroenterology. Dr. Desai chose Loyola for its supportive, collaborative environment and the strong sense of community within the program. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing volleyball and pickleball, baking, and spending time with family and friends. His favorite things to do in Chicago include walking along the Riverwalk and exploring the city’s diverse neighborhoods and vibrant food scene. Looking ahead, he plans to pursue a career in academic medicine with a focus on teaching and contributing to trainee development.

Manasa Sagaram, DO
Medical School: Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine of Midwestern University Medical School
Residency: University of Louisville School of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency
Manasa is a current third year GI fellow. She went to medical school in Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine (AZCOM) and then did her IM residency at University of Louisville. She grew up in the Chicagoland area and is so happy to finally be back home. Her favorite things to do in Chicago are try new restaurants, go to concerts, and take walks along the lake. She likes Loyola because of the friendship between the fellows and the amazing supportive faculty, all of whom have made her experience that much better. After graduation, she plans to stay in the Chicago area and become a general gastroenterologist.

Roberto A. Oleas Narea
Medical School: Universidad de Especialidades Espiritu Santo (UEES), Guayaquil, Ecuador
Residency: John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, Chicago, Illinois
Roberto Oleas was born and raised in the coastal city of Guayaquil, Ecuador. He graduated Cum Laude at Universidad de Especialidades Espiritu Santo, School of Medicine in Ecuador. He worked for one year as PCP in a rural area of Ecuador before moving to the USA. He completed his internal medicine residency at John H. Stroger Jr Hospital of Cook County Health. Currently, he is a second-year GI fellow at Loyola. He is enthusiastic about advanced endoscopic procedures and biliopancreatic diseases. If he is not scoping in the GI Lab, Roberto will always be engaging in outdoor activities, such as biking and going to the beach. His other hobbies include cooking Ecuadorian cuisine, practicing yoga, reading Hispanic writers, weight lifting and playing the saxophone.

Ryan Meader, DO

I was born and raised in Rochester Hills, Michigan. I attended Michigan State University for undergraduate, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine of Midwestern University for medical school, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital for internal medicine residency and Loyola University Medical Center for Hepatology fellowship. I choose Loyola University to continue with Gastroenterology Training because of the wide array of pathology, supportive/family like nature of the current fellows and faculty. In my free time I enjoying playing sports such as golf and basketball, enjoying exploring Chicago and new restaurants and taking my two French bulldogs for walks.

Sagar Dommaraju 
Sagar Dommaraju was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. He studied mathematics at the University of Illinois at Chicago, completed a Master's in Global Health Sciences at the University of California San Francisco, returned to Chicago for medical school and internal medicine residency at Northwestern, and then worked for one year as a nocturnist. Now, he could not be more excited to start his training as a Gastroenterology Fellow at Loyola! When he's not at work, you may catch him at the beach playing pick-up volleyball, in the gym trying to last 30 minutes on the Stairmaster, in the kitchen simmering spices for a lamb vindaloo, or playing poker/board games with friends.
Serena Korkmaz
Serena Korkmaz grew up in Rockford, Illinois. She went to University of Illinois at Chicago for undergrad and University of Illinois for medical school. As she had loved working as a post-bac researcher at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, MD, she decided to head back to the area for residency at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. She thoroughly enjoyed her time on the east coast and is ecstatic to be back home in Chicago for fellowship at Loyola. In her free time, she enjoys biking, exploring the city by foot, drawing, spending time with friends and family, and dabbling in many different hobbies.
Tanisha Ronnie
Tanisha Ronnie grew up in Minneapolis, MN. She attended the University of Minnesota for both undergrad and medical school, before moving to Chicago for Internal Medicine residency at Loyola. She is thrilled to be staying on at Loyola as a GI fellow! In her free time, she enjoys exploring new restaurants, as well as gardening, thrifting, and playing pickleball and golf.
Elizabeth Soladoye
Elizabeth Soladoye was born and raised in Nigeria and earned her medical degree from the prestigious University of Ibadan in Nigeria, where she developed a strong foundation in internal medicine along with a deep commitment to disease prevention and global health equity. Driven by a passion to address health disparities on a broader scale, she obtained a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Texas A&M University. She completed her internal medicine residency at Piedmont Athens Regional in Georgia and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in recognition of her academic excellence, leadership and service. Elizabeth is excited to be a gastroenterology fellow at Loyola University Medical Center where she continues to advance her commitment to equitable, evidence- based care, research innovation and mentorship of future physician-leaders. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, baking, karaoke, playing the violin, visiting museums and curating photographs that capture meaningful moments and stories.
