About

Dr. Khalil Qato is a board-certified vascular surgeon who helps patients find relief from complex artery and vein problems. Whether you’re living with leg pain from peripheral artery disease (PAD), facing an aortic aneurysm, or struggling with varicose veins, Dr. Qato provides expert care close to home in Melrose Park and Tinley Park. He is passionate about protecting circulation, preventing amputations, and helping people maintain active, independent lives.

Vascular surgeons like Dr. Qato are trained to treat the entire circulatory system beyond the heart, including arteries, veins, and lymphatic vessels. His expertise includes minimally invasive angioplasty and stent placements, carotid artery surgery to reduce stroke risk, dialysis access creation, and advanced bypass procedures when necessary. Patients appreciate his ability to explain complex conditions in simple terms and guide them toward the safest, most effective treatment options.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Qato has traveled internationally to provide surgical care in underserved areas, including a mission to the West Bank where he performed life-saving vascular surgeries. He also teaches the next generation of surgeons as an assistant professor of surgery.

Dr. Qato is fluent in Arabic and welcomes patients from diverse backgrounds. With appointments available at Loyola Medicine’s Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose Park and at Loyola Medicine Tinley Park, care is never far from where you live or work. If you’ve been told you may need vascular surgery, or you’re worried about symptoms like leg pain when walking, swollen veins, or circulation problems, schedule a consultation with Dr. Qato today. Early treatment can help preserve your health and mobility.\n

If I decide to have vein surgery, he is the one I will use

10/03/2025

I would like for the provider to at least act like he is concerned about my condition and not look at me as if he is not concerned. When I told him about my concerns he responded to me with that is not what's happening on his end.
