MAYWOOD, IL – It’s a boy! Alex Elias was the first baby delivered at MacNeal Hospital in 2025. Alex entered the world at 4:34 a.m., weighing 6 pounds, 1 ounce and 19 inches long. Alex is doing well and ready to go home with his mom, Yessenia Hernandez, and dad, Carlos Chavez Torres of Cicero, IL.
Alex is the couple’s second child and will be the little brother to two-year-old Mateo, who was also born at MacNeal. As the first baby born in 2025 at MacNeal, Alex and his parents will be sent home with a care package full of baby supplies which were collected and donated by the nursing staff.
