Loyola Medicine Receives 2019 'Most Wired' Award For Best Practices in Information Technology

MAYWOOD, IL – Loyola Medicine has earned the 2019 Most Wired award from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) for following best practices in information technology.

The Most Wired program conducts an annual survey to assess how effectively healthcare organizations apply core and advanced technologies into their clinical and business programs to improve healthcare.

The survey identifies organizations that exemplify best practices in the adoption, implementation and use of information technology.

Daniel P. Isacksen, Jr., executive vice president and regional chief financial officer of Loyola Medicine, said there are many benefits to Loyola's embrace of healthcare information technology. "These benefits include better patient outcomes, improved patient safety and less paperwork," Mr. Isacksen said.

CHIME rated participating organizations in eight areas: infrastructure; security; business/disaster recovery; administrative/supply chain; analytics/data management; interoperability/population health; patient engagement; and clinical quality/safety. Organizations can use their scores to identify IT strengths and weaknesses.

CHIME is an executive organization dedicated to serving chief information officers and other senior healthcare IT leaders. It has more than 2,900 members in 56 countries.
