Loyola Medicine’s Shawn P. Vincent elected as Chairman for Illinois Health and Hospital Association Board

MAYWOOD, IL – Shawn P. Vincent, President and Chief Executive Officer of Loyola Medicine, Chief Executive Officer of Saint Joseph Health System, and President of the Trinity Health Illinois/Indiana Region has been elected to serve as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Illinois Health and Hospital Association (IHA). The IHA Board is the policymaking body for the Association, which represents more than 200 hospitals and nearly 40 health systems across Illinois. Vincent’s one-year term began on Jan. 1, 2025. The first IHA board meeting of the year is scheduled for Jan. 24.

Vincent joined Loyola from Augusta University Health, where he served as Chief Operating Officer. Previously, as Vice President for partnerships and international healthcare and strategic affiliations at Augusta University Health, he was responsible for the development of relationships and programs, including hospitals, physicians, clinics, foundations, community leaders, research endeavors, international entities, philanthropic opportunities and branch campus opportunities. Prior to Augusta University Health, he held leadership positions with Hospital Corporation of America, Phymatrix Corporation and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
Vincent served in the United States Marine Corps and holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia. He also earned a bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare management, from Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C.
He is an executive fellow of the Advisory Board Company on Healthcare in Washington, D.C. He previously served as Chair-Elect for the Illinois Health and Hospital Association's (IHA) Board of Trustees.
