MAYWOOD, IL – Shawn P. Vincent, president and CEO of Loyola Medicine, has been appointed to the Illinois Health and Hospital Association’s (IHA) 2020 Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees is the policymaking body for the Association, which represents more than 200 hospitals and nearly 40 health systems across Illinois. Vincent will serve a three-year term effective January 1, 2020.

Vincent joined Loyola Medicine from Augusta University Health, where he served as chief operating officer. Previously, as vice president for partnerships and international healthcare and strategic affiliations at Augusta University Health, he was responsible for the development of relationships and programs, including hospitals, physicians, clinics, foundations, community leaders, research endeavors, international entities, philanthropic opportunities and branch campus opportunities. Prior to Augusta University Health, he held leadership positions with Hospital Corporation of America, Phymatrix Corporation, Wentz Wellness Centers and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Vincent served in the United States Marine Corps and holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia. He also earned a bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare management, from Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C. He is an executive fellow of the Advisory Board Company on Healthcare in Washington, D.C.

The Illinois Health and Hospital Association advocates for Illinois' hospitals and health systems as they serve their patients and communities. Reflecting the diversity of the state, IHA members consist of nonprofit, investor-owned and public hospitals in the following categories: community, safety net, rural, critical access, specialty, and teaching hospitals, including academic medical centers.
