Loyola University Medical Center's Nate Karch Named to Illinois Nurses Foundation's 40 under 40 Emerging Nurse Leader List

MAYWOOD, IL – Loyola University Medical Center nurse manager Nate Karch, DNP, RN, PCCN-K, will receive an Illinois Nurses Foundation 2020 40 Under 40 Nurse Leadership Award. The recognition celebrates “young nurse leaders who are impacting health care and the nursing profession today, and who undoubtedly shape the future of the profession.”
Karch works in cardiology at Loyola. He is also an assistant professor at the Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing. He has a doctorate in nursing from Chamberlain University, with a focus on health care systems leadership; and a master’s degree in nursing (he is a family nurse practitioner) from Olivet Nazarene University. Karch also is a certified progressive care nurse. Karch was nominated for the award by his supervisor, Sharon Rangel, executive director of inpatient nursing operations.
“It truly is a privilege to be recognized among so many distinguished nurses,” said Karch. “I have to thank my mentors who have helped shape me into the leader I am today. Being recognized helps to further my trajectory in my leadership journey and I am truly excited about the future.”

The 40 nurses will be honored at a virtual celebration, from at 6 to 7:30 pm on Thursday, September 17, 2020.
