Loyola University Medical Center: Prenatal Classes

Loyola University Medical Center is here to support you every step of the way as you prepare for the arrival of your baby. Our childbirth, infant care and breastfeeding classes are led by experienced registered nurses and board-certified lactation consultants. These free sessions are designed to help you feel confident and prepared for your growing family.

Classes for Expectant Parents

Understanding Childbirth

Learn what to expect during labor and delivery, pain management options, partner support, and more. A tour of the labor/delivery and postpartum unit will be available after the class.

Understanding Your Newborn

Gain hands-on knowledge about diapering, bathing, swaddling, and recognizing your baby's cues.

Understanding Breastfeeding

Get guidance on latching, milk supply, and overcoming common challenges from certified lactation consultants.

Maternity Unit Tours

Wednesdays at 6 p.m.
Take a guided tour of Loyola's labor & delivery and mother-baby units so you know exactly where to go when it’s time.
