About this event

Taught by Stephanie Loiacono MS BSN RNC and Sharon Greene-Hughes Strong, MSN, CEFM, RNC both Administrative Perinatal Network Outreach Educators of IL. This introductory course is for nurses new to fetal monitoring and caring for the antepartum and intrapartum patient. Objectives include: purpose of fetal monitoring, components of the fetal heart rate and its physiology; fetal monitoring characteristics using the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) terminology and criteria; characteristics of Category I, II, and III patterns; methods of antepartum testing; interventions related to fetal heart rate patterns and related maternal physiology; components of nursing documentation, legal issues and communication.
