About

Dr. Renea Poppino Jablonski is a pulmonologist in Chicago who specializes in interstitial lung disease (ILD), pulmonary fibrosis, and critical care medicine. She is an assistant professor of medicine at Loyola Medicine and sees patients at the Loyola Outpatient Center in Maywood and Loyola Medicine Tinley Park.

Dr. Jablonski completed her medical degree at the University of Washington, residency at the University of California–San Diego, and fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care at Northwestern University’s McGaw Medical Center. She is board-certified in pulmonary disease, critical care, and internal medicine, providing care for patients with complex respiratory conditions.

Her clinical expertise is in diagnosing and treating ILDs, which are caused by scarring of lung tissue due to environmental exposures, autoimmune disorders, or genetics. Evaluation often involves detailed history, lab work, and high-resolution CT scans. Treatment may include antifibrotic therapies, immunosuppressive medications, pulmonary rehabilitation, or referral for lung transplant evaluation. She collaborates closely with radiologists, rheumatologists, and surgeons to provide multidisciplinary care.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Jablonski contributes to research on ILD imaging guidelines, deep learning classification of usual interstitial pneumonia, quality-of-life in lung transplant patients, and immune-related pneumonitis. Her academic work underscores her commitment to advancing care for patients with rare and challenging lung diseases.

Patients experiencing chronic cough, unexplained shortness of breath, or suspected interstitial lung disease are encouraged to seek a consultation or second opinion with Dr. Jablonski. Her expertise offers reassurance and access to the latest therapies for those living with complex lung conditions.
