Loyola patient marks 10th anniversary of heart and double-lung transplant

Patient Andrew Gaumer recently marked the 10th anniversary of his successful heart and double-lung transplant at Loyola. Before the transplant, Mr. Gaumer was so short of breath it felt like he was always running on a treadmill. Now he can run a 5K race or climb a mountain. Erin Lowery, MD, said Mr. Gaumer is an inspiration to other patients waiting for lung transplants.
