Loyola Vascular Surgeon Removes IVC Filters in Patients

After David Farr was injured in a motorcycle accident, an IVC filter was placed in his inferior vena cava vein to prevent blood clots from traveling to his lungs. Years later, when the filter was no longer needed, Loyola Medicine vascular surgeon Carlos Bechara, MD, removed the filter in a minimally invasive procedure. Now all the pain is gone.
