Breast cancer patient overcomes diagnosis with help of Loyola Medicine cancer team

Kathy McCarthy and her husband, Mike, were devastated when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. But they are grateful she was treated at Loyola University Medical Center’s multidisciplinary Breast Oncology Center. “I wouldn’t go anywhere else,” Mrs. McCarthy said. Mrs. McCarthy underwent a lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiation, and a follow-up mammogram found no signs of cancer. “Kathy’s a strong woman,” Mike McCarthy said. “She got through this and hopefully it’s all behind us now, and the future will be nothing but bright.” For more information, please visit or call 888-584-7888.
