Altruistic kidney donor gives the gift of life at Loyola Medicine
Inspired by a news story in 2015, Tom Hanch decided to altruistically donate a kidney. With no specific recipient in mind, he met with Loyola Medicine’s Raquel Garcia Roca, MD, surgical director of renal transplants. About a year later, Mr. Hanch became a living donor when he donated his kidney to a 25-year-old man.
