MELROSE PARK, Ill.-- Gottlieb Memorial Hospital received âhigh performingâ honors in Neurology & Neurosurgery and Urology, meaning they are among the top 25 percent of hospitals in the nation, in new rankings from U.S. News & World Report.
Gottlieb placed 30th in overall rankings of hospitals in metropolitan Chicago. The 2011-2012 Best Hospitals rankings are based on a rigorous review of 4,825 hospitals nationwide. Of those hospitals, only 720 met the criteria to be included in the rankings. Factors used in evaluating the hospitals include reputation, patient survival, patient safety and care-related factors such as nursing and patient services. Gottlieb, a full-service community hospital, is part of the Loyola University Health System.
