Aesthetician brings personal touch to patient care
MAYWOOD, Ill. â Loyola University Health System (LUHS) recently added an aesthetician to its well established Center for Aesthetics at Oakbrook Terrace North. Aimee Faciano is a licensed medical aesthetician, certified laser technologist, camouflage make-up artist and reconstructive tattoo artist. Faciano will work closely with LUHSâ seasoned plastic and reconstructive surgeons to offer services and treatments that beautify and rejuvenate patients.
âMedical aestheticians serve as an integral part of any cosmetic enhancement process,â said Victor Cimino, MD, associate professor, Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, LUHS. âAimeeâs background and skills will be invaluable to our patients and the entire medical and nursing team.â
Faciano has worked in the field of aesthetics for more than a decade. She decided to enter this industry after suffering from acne as an adolescent.
âAfter experiencing the embarrassing side effects of teen acne, I knew that I wanted to pursue a profession where I could help others with skin problems,â Faciano said. âMy personal connection to aesthetics has brought more compassion and empathy to my work with patients.â
Faciano began her career at a large skin spa in Chicago. She immediately went on to work in private cosmetic and plastic surgery practices and traveled nationally for a large laser company before coming to LUHS. She currently is a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, the Society of Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists and the American Aestheticians Education Association.
âI am pleased to now work in a facility that combines the expertise and resources of a major academic medical center with the conveniences and comfort of an outpatient setting,â Faciano added. âI enjoy helping patients care for skin, their bodyâs largest organ, and find it rewarding to see them feel better about themselves.â
The Loyola Center for Aestheticsâ services range from anti-aging procedures, laser hair removal and eyelash-enhancing treatments to cosmetic facial and body surgery. The center also provides free skin analyses and consultations to new patients.
