Dr. Stanley Martin Cohen attracted by quality, chance to help guide hepatology program
MAYWOOD, Ill. -- Dr. Stanley Martin Cohen, an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of liver disorders, has been appointed director of the hepatology program at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.
"Many hepatology programs are either too conservative or too liberal when it comes to patient care, but Loyola has just the right blend," said Cohen, who is also associate professor, Department of Medicine, Stritch School of Medicine. "At Loyola it's not solely about numbers. It's more about the quality of care offered to patients and I'm here to help the hepatology program grow."
The hepatology program will directly support Loyola's liver transplantation program, which began in 1997.
Cohen's professional interests include hepatitis, liver transplantation and fatty liver disease. Cohen is board certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology and transplant hepatology.
