Welcome to the Neurology Residency Program
Thank you for your interest in the Loyola University Medical Center's Categorical Neurology Residency Program. Please take time to browse our newly redesigned website and learn more about our excellent training program. First, I would like to congratulate you on making the decision to become a Neurologist. Choosing a residency in which you will thrive and develop the lifelong skills needed to succeed is the next important step in this process. The Department of Neurology at Loyola University Medical Center is committed to achieving excellence in patient care, medical education and research at both the graduate and postgraduate level.
Our categorical neurology residency program includes a guaranteed PGY-1 Preliminary Internal Medicine year. During your training in our program, the number one emphasis is on resident education. Our program has a strong foundation consisting of a dedicated faculty and an excellent curriculum. We have a superb training program that will prepare you for a career in private practice or academic medicine depending on your present and future interests. To date, we have graduated more than 100 residents who have found success in life both in the academic and private practice settings. Our strong curriculum is geared towards residents successfully passing the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Board Exams.
We offer a richly varied patient population both at Loyola and the Hines VA hospital. Our program has a diverse faculty representing general and subspecialty Neurology interests. The faculty possesses a strong commitment to resident education. Our house staff benefits from close resident-faculty interaction on a daily basis.
