About Dr. Palmer


Dr. Palmer is a board-certified gastroenterologist and the medical director of clinical nutrition at Loyola University Health Systems. She completed her GI training as an advanced clinical research fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she also obtained a master's degree in clinical research. As the medical director of clinical nutrition, she works closely with the Loyola University nutritionists and specialty pharmacists to direct personalized nutrition therapy, parenteral and enteral nutrition, nutrition complications of GI diseases such as malabsorption, vitamin deficiencies and weight loss and feeding tubes. She sees patients with inflammatory bowel diseases, celiac disease, bacterial overgrowth syndromes, short bowel syndrome and other diseases that cause malnutrition. Dr. Palmer was raised in Mississippi but is thrilled to now call Chicago home. In her free time, she is an avid cook and enjoys interior design and traveling.
