Loyola Center for Health and Fitness Offering Day of Health and Wellness
MAYWOOD -- Loyola Center for Health & Fitness is inviting women to take some time for themselves to attend a free health and fitness day on Saturday, Oct. 18.
Women's Day is designed to sharpen your mind, energize your body and improve your outlook on life. Activities include seminars, exhibits and talks on such topics as weight
management and depression and stress.
Women's Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Center for Health & Fitness, 2160 S. First Ave., Maywood.
Loyola Center for Health & Fitness has been ranked the No. 1 fitness center by the Chicago Tribune Reader's Poll. The state-of-the-art facility has premium locker room amenities and degreed, certified professionals. The center is waiving enrollment fees for women who become members on Women's Day.
Women's Day will include experts in pilates, massage, personal training, nutrition, cholesterol screening, heart disease, osteoporosis, smoking cessation, breast health, incontinence, endometreosis, pre- and postnatal exercise, weight management and dermatology.
Dr. Kathy Albain, one of the nation's leading researchers in breast and lung cancer, will give a special talk at 11 a.m. titled "On Making Time for Fitness -- Doctor, do you Practice what You Preach?" Albain is a professor of medicine in the Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Medicine, at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine(LUCSSOM).

10 a.m. Dr. Charlotte Bai, assistant professor of medicine, division of cardiology, department of medicine, LUCSSOM. "Heart Disease and Women."
12:15 p.m. Dr. Cheyanne Casas, assistant professor of family medicine. LUCSSOM. "Weight Management."
1 p.m. Dr. Edwin Meresh, assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral neurosciences, LUCSSOM. "Depression and Stress in Women."
