MELROSE PARK, Ill -- Roberto Levi-D’Ancona, OB/GYN, played Cupid this Valentine’s Day, delivering healthy babies to two Chicago-area couples. Aiden Yesenia was delivered at 8:08 a.m. to first-time parents, Gerena and José. He was joined a few minutes later by Bella Rose Salgado, who was delivered at 8:35 a.m. to first-time parents, Rose and Angelo.
“I cannot imagine a better valentine than Aiden and to us, he is truly a romantic symbol of how much José and I love each other,” the proud mother said. “He is a real sweetheart, so he picked the right birth date.” Aiden was expected on Feb. 29, Leap Day, but came early on Valentine’s Day.
Bella was born two days past her original targeted “birthday” of Sunday, Feb. 12. “A baby is a much better gift than roses or chocolate,” her mother said. “Her birthdays will always be filled with red hearts and angels and words of love.” Dr. D’Ancona has delivered hundreds of babies at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, part of Loyola University Health System. “Both mothers and their babies are healthy and that’s what we want most of all,” D’Ancona said. “I think a hospital delivery room is one of the most romantic places on earth."
