Loyola can help baseball pitchers prone to injury avert surgery
Dr. Pietro Tonino, director of the Sports Medicine program at Loyola, said orthopaedic surgeons are seeing more pitching injuries at an increasingly younger age. Luckily, there is a 3-D system that allows doctors to see movement problems that the naked eye can't pick up. With this technology specialists are able to identify which baseball pitchers are prone to injury and provide them with preventive therapy.
