Help your kids make healthier food choices, stay fit
Brooke Schantz, a registered dietitian at Loyola, talks about what parents can do to help their children if they are at risk of becoming overweight. It's important to set exercise and diet goals as a family.
She also offers other tips to manage weight in children and some easy guidelines for judging a portion size. For example, one serving of starch (a cup) is about the size of an adult's fist; a 3-4 ounce serving of meat is about the size of an adult's palm.
