Purpose: To investigate whether a 24-hour, nurse driven, volume-based enteral nutrition (EN) protocol will improve feeding adequacy compared to the current rate per hour enteral feeding practices in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at an urban academic tertiary care center.
