Ophthalmology Services

Ophthalmology services offer a range of comprehensive eye care. Board-certified ophthalmologists and licensed optometrists provide diagnostic services and personalized treatment for adults and children in all ophthalmic subspecialties.

The ophthalmology department uses the most current, state-of-the-art equipment and procedures.

Advanced diagnostic testing includes:

  • Fluorescein angiography
  • Ultrasonography
  • Gonioscopy
  • Corneal topography
  • Visual field analysis
  • Nerve fiber layer analysis
  • Retinal photography
  • Pachymetry

Research

The research programs in basic science and clinical ophthalmology focus on a wide variety of areas including: ischemic retinal disease, corneal and retinal stem cell biology, oculoplastic reconstruction after trauma, management of microbial keratitis, complications following refractive surgery and management of failed glaucoma surgery. The research is supported by the department of ophthalmology at the Stritch School of Medicine.
