Participants must be 18 or older with histological confirmation of anaplastic glioma and an ECOG performance status of 0 to 2, between two weeks and three months of surgery. Participants need CBC, CMP and brain scans and must be willing and able to complete neurocognitive testing.
The two main reasons this research study is being done are to see if:
1.) participants survive longer if they get treatment with the combination of both radiation therapy and temozolomide chemotherapy as compared to participants who receive treatment with just radiation therapy and 2.) participants treated with temozolomide therapy alone (without radiation therapy) have a better or worse quality of life and mental function than those patients who are treated with either the combination of radiation therapy and temozolomide or radiation therapy alone. Survival will also be monitored in the participants getting just temozolomide.
