Eligibility

Participants must be at least 60 years of age (or over 40 with a history of peripheral vascular disease or history of diabetes), be free of active infection and have no active symptoms of CAD or uncontrolled congestive heart failure.

Purpose

The purpose of this study is to find out the best way to identify who may be at risk for heart disease in patients who are receiving allogeneic bone marrow transplantation. This study will identify the number of patients with undiagnosed coronary artery disease in the population of bone marrow transplant candidates. Furthermore, we hope to learn if this new screening strategy will reduce the number of heart problems compared with participants who have received the current screening strategy.
