The Neurological Surgery program at the Ronald McDonald® Children’s Hospital of Loyola University Medical Center helps children and their families feel more comfortable when facing major surgery. We have years of experience caring for children with serious disorders of the nervous system, including:
- Brain, spinal cord, spine or skull disorders
- Cranial and spinal nerve conditions
- Pituitary gland malfunction
- Tumors of the brain or central nervous system
- Cavernous malformation of the brain stem
- Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma (JNA)
- Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs)
Our areas of practice also include our epilepsy care (including WADA testing), pediatric cerebral angiographies, diagnostic angiographies, as well as the removal of brain and spinal cord tumors. New advances in this area of medicine have allowed us to perform precise and less-invasive procedures, oftentimes increasing the speed at which children can recover and leaving as much healthy tissue intact as possible.
