Focus on snacktime to get kids to eat healthy

Gina Bucciferro, a clinical dietitian at Loyola University Medical Center, provides tips on what snacks to give kids and how to build healthy habits with them.

Research shows that 88 percent of children in the U.S. do not meet their daily intake for fruit, and, worse, 92 percent do not meet the same for vegetables.
A good time to get children to eat a healthy snack? After physical activity, so kids can replace the extra energy they are burning.
