MyLoyolaSelect Serves Patients' Needs

MyLoyolaSelect
Make a difference in your life, take ownership of your health

Consumers are looking for greater involvement in their health care. That's why Loyola expanded its secure, online health connection - MyLoyolaSelect. MyLoyolaSelect offers Loyola primary care patients and select specialty care patients and their family members the opportunity to manage their care in a secure environment.

By registering for this free service, patients can review their personal health summaries and medical records, schedule appointments, view laboratory test results and receive reminders for vaccinations and preventative medicine tests, such as mammograms and colonoscopies. In the past, patients had to call their doctors and ask for faxed copies of cancer or cholesterol tests or for a child's immunization history for a school physical. Now patients who participate in the service can go online and view or print the results whenever they like.

Many patients also like sending confidential messages to their doctor's office with questions that do not require an immediate response. (For urgent situations, patients are encouraged to call their doctor immediately or, if life-threatening, call 9-1-1.)

Loyola services that provide longer-term care, such as obstetrics, internal medicine, oncology, pediatrics and primary care are using MyLoyolaSelect to communicate with those patients who want to take advantage of the service. It's not always easy to remember important information following a visit to the hospital or a doctor. As an added convenience for patients, MyLoyolaSelect offers secure and confidential access to hospital discharge instructions or summaries following doctor visits.
