Rehabilitation Services

Loyola provides rehabilitation therapy services for both hospitalized and outpatient adults and children. The program includes occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech language pathology and other specialized services. Our programs emphasize an individualized approach with tailored treatments.

Loyola provides rehabilitation services in a variety of settings dependent on your needs. As you progress in your abilities, your physicians may move you from one setting of care to another to enhance your recovery process and improve the effectiveness of your care.

• Acute inpatient rehabilitation Offers the highest intensity of inpatient rehabilitation care which utilizes a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to your care. You are monitored daily by your physicians and work with a team of professionals from various medical specialties. • Acute inpatient care: A team of highly-trained professionals develop individualized, effective treatment programs to assist you in transitioning to your next level of care.
• Outpatient rehabilitation: Skilled physical, occupational and speech services that aim to reach the highest level of each patient’s physical activity and enhance patients’ lives by promoting fitness and wellness for more active lifestyles.
• Day rehabilitation: The day rehab program is designed to ease your transition from the hospital to your home and allows you to achieve your goals in a supportive, safe environment. Physical therapy, occupational therapy and/or speech therapy are offered during day rehab.
• Home care rehabilitation is available for homebound patients following illness or injury. Therapy is provided in the comfort of your own home, often shortening or eliminating a hospital stay.

Whether in the hospital, in an outpatient setting or in your home, we focus on providing you the highest level of clinical care as well as engaging you in your treatment plan. We encourage you to ask any questions you may have at any time during your treatment. Our goal is to help you return to all of your activities of daily living without pain or other symptoms and to provide you with the knowledge needed to prevent problems in the future.

You can utilize Loyola rehabilitation services once you have a referral from your primary care or specialty physician, even if your doctor doesn't practice at Loyola. The therapist's initial evaluation of your condition and therapy needs will be sent to your physician within the first week of care and subsequent status updates are sent as needed.
