Loyola's endocrinologists provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of diabetes mellitus, multiple endocrine neoplasia, female and male gonadal dysfunction, and other hormonal disorders, including of the thyroid, adrenal, parathyroid and pituitary glands.
They also provide care for patients with bone and mineral disorders, including osteoporosis and Paget’s disease. Diagnostic services include radioimmunoassay, isotopic imaging, selective venous sampling, chromosome analysis, fine-needle aspiration and biopsy with cytochemistry.
Osteoporosis & Metabolic Bone Disease Center
The Osteoporosis & Metabolic Bone Disease Center provides a multidisciplinary approach to the evaluation and treatment of osteoporosis and metabolic bone diseases such as Paget's disease, osteomalacia, hyperparathyroidism, vitamin D deficiency, disorders of calcium and other minerals.
Physicians take a global approach to preventing, treating and studying bone disease and collaborate with multiple specialists. Wide ranges of metabolic bone diseases are treated, such as Paget's disease and osteomalacia, but osteoporosis represents the overwhelming majority of the cases.
Thyroid Disease Care Center
Management of thyroid disease, including fine needle biopsy of thyroid nodules, and specialization and multi-disciplinary approach to thyroid cancer is offered.
