Academic-Level Cancer Care Now Available at Loyola's Wheaton Center

The Loyola Center for Health at Wheaton has added cancer services to its wide range of academic-level care.

The center provides access to a diverse range of treatment options, including clinical trials of new drugs and therapies. It is located at 140 E. Loop Rd., Wheaton. Patients have access to internationally recognized oncology specialists experienced in treating both common and rare cancers.

Following treatment, the Cancer Survivorship Program offers guidance on such issues as follow-up screenings and proper nutrition.

The Survivorship Program is the first of its kind in the Midwest. It bridges the gap between a cancer patient's oncologist and primary-care physician. Patients have access to physicians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, genetic counselors, nutritionists and members of pastoral care.

Other services offered at the Wheaton center include family medicine, internal medicine, heart failure, neurological surgery, adult and pediatric orthopaedics, adult and pediatric otolaryngology (ear-nose-throat) and pediatrics.
